Congratulations
to all those who took part in the 2010 J.P. Morgan Round the Island
Race! The event attracted over 1,700 boats and around 16,000 sailors
enjoyed some great weather and first class sailing conditions.
First place in the Sunsail class went to Pete Walters from the Notts County Sailing Club who Skippered
Sunsail 9 around the Island in a time of 8hrs
36mins. Pete's achievement was highlighted by the fact that he was
over 15 minutes ahead of the next Sunsail boat, Sunsail 54, skippered
by Paco Casternar, who flew from Spain to participate in the event.
Third place went to Sunsail 7 skippered by Richard Clarke. View the full list of the Sunsail class race results .
Next
year is the 80th Anniversary of
the Round the Island Race, held
on the 25th of June,
and we are expecting a record turnout. The celebrations and the
racing will make it an event not to be missed so if you
want to secure your place in 2011, register your interest today
by e-mailing the team here.
