Gemalto keeps strengthening its position in e-banking strong authentication with the acquisition of Todos
 Gemalto is pleased to announce the acquisition of Todos, another leading provider of strong authentication solutions for internet banking. Based in Sweden, Todos has to date delivered in excess of 20 million products to over 100 financial institutions in more than 30 countries.
With this acquisition, Gemalto:- Widens up its product portfolio with high end product offer including versatile authentication servers and transaction verification capabilities with patented dynamic signature technology.
- Increases its foot print in Northern Europe and Asia
The combined business, including the e-banking activity from Xiring acquired in 2009, creates a new world leader in e-banking authentication to ensure a safer online environment for e-bankers everywhere.

Results of Gemalto's international end users survey : A need for security...to be free
 Gemalto and Synovate carried out 1,500 interviews of Internet users in five countries: Brazil, France, Germany, UK and USA. The main objective of the survey was to explore consumer's perception for e-commerce and e-banking activities.
Internet: a part of consumer's daily lives with:- 1 out of 4 checks his bank account daily;
- 66% purchase online more than once a month.
But Internet also brought security concerns with:
- 53% of non Internet bankers don't do it because they don' t trust security access to their online bank account.
- 72% of users know that giving their card details on the Internet is risky
Strong authentication solutions spur interest with:- A majority of Internet users are even willing to pay more for new secure solutions
